American Gold Eagles 1 oz

Influenced by the earlier success of the South African Krugerrand, the Bullion Coin Act of 1985 approved the American Gold Eagle for production. It was decided that the Gold Eagle should be minted in 22 karats to make it stronger and more durable than pure 24 karat gold. The Gold Eagles were first sold to the public in 1986 and as of today over 12 million Gold Eagles have been struck and sold. The Act also stated that the Gold Eagle could only contain gold mined from the United States of America.

The US Mint strikes the American Gold Eagle Coin to exacting specifications. American Gold Eagle Coins have their weight, purity, and content fully backed by the United States Government. During precious metal bubbles government coinage, including Gold Eagle Coins, can often develop a premium because of their reliability and recognition by the general public.

One of the reasons why the American Gold Eagle coin has become the most popular bullion coin in the world is because of its beauty. The Gold Eagle was originally commissioned by Theodor Roosevelt to rival the beauty of the Ancient Greek and Roman Coins. The obverse side of the Gold Eagle displays lady liberty holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. On the reverse side of the Gold Eagle is the male eagle carrying an olive branch to a nest with a female eagle and eaglets. The obverse side of the American Gold Eagles was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The reverse side of the US Gold Eagle was designed by Miley Busiek.

American Gold Eagle Coins have a high degree if investment liquidity. Aside from the Gold Eagle Coin being legal tender in the United States, officially worth 50 US dollars, their design and government backing makes them convertible into currency at nearly every coin shop, worldwide.

American Eagle Coins come in tubes of 20 US Gold Eagles with a red top for safekeeping. These tubes have a fail-safe design that makes it nearly impossible to load an incorrect number of Gold Eagles. American Gold Eagles are 22 Karat gold with an overall weight of 1.0909 troy oz with one ounce of gold content in each Gold Eagle Coin.

The American Gold Eagle Coin is exempt from IRS 1099B brokerage reporting making them the most private gold investment vehicle in the USA.
