Recent initiatives include a new 20-tonne secure vault, halal gold-backed ETFs, and bank-led digital gold savings products. With global Islamic finance projected to hit $7.5 trillion by 2028, gold’s non-interest-bearing nature makes it a natural fit. However, strict rules on ownership transfer and asset backing mean awareness and education are crucial for continued growth in this market.
