China has warned countries negotiating trade deals with the U.S. that it will retaliate if their agreements harm Chinese interests.
This comes as the U.S. under President Trump attempts to pressure about 70 trading partners to limit their dealings with China.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Prime Minister Ishiba has indicated Japan won’t easily concede to U.S. demands in their trade talks.
Trump has also released an eight-point “non-tariff cheating” list addressing issues beyond tariffs, while South Korea and the U.S. are set to begin trade negotiations this week.
