Since 1 oz silver rounds are struck by private mints, they do not have seigniorage (the cost issuing sovereign mints, like the US Mint or Royal Canadian Mint, add to cover their production costs and add a profit).
Various Mints 1 oz silver rounds are for investors who want maximum value in divisible, small denomination increments.
By letting us choose your silver rounds, you save!
We select low-cost 1 oz silver rounds that are ready to ship from our available inventory. This includes new and secondary market rounds (i.e. pre-owned).
Secondary market 1 oz silver rounds may show signs of wear including scratches or even oxidation, but that does not diminish their value or fine silver content.
All Various Mints rounds are available for home delivery or private vault storage and are easily sold back (liquidated) when you need to.
Your 1 oz silver round will come from a reputable mint. And your order may be filled with one brand or more than one brand, and may not match the brand(s) pictured on this page, but they all come with the same .999+ purity and contain 1 troy ounce of fine, investment-grade silver.
Designs also vary and may be all the same or mixed. These are the most popular and common designs:
BUFFALO
This replica silver round is modeled after the “Buffalo Nickel” which was minted from 1913 through 1938 by the United States Mints in San Francisco, Philadelphia and Denver. The front of the round also has the inscription "LIBERTY" curved around the upper right rim. The back of the round is another replica image of original Buffalo Nickel that features the mottos "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", meaning “out of many, one,” along with "1 OZ. .999 FINE SILVER" to designate this piece as silver bullion.
SAINT GAUDEN
Famed sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens (last name is also referred to as "St Gaudens") is widely known for designing the twenty-dollar gold coin minted from 1907 to 1933. This replica 1 oz silver round is modeled after Saint-Gauden’s original and now iconic striding-Liberty design currently used by the U.S. Mint on Gold Eagle coins. The front of the round features a likeness of Lady Liberty carrying a torch and olive branch with sun rays in the background and stars lining the outer edge of the medallion. The back of the round has an eagle perched on a branch with the weight and purity designation of "ONE OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER" curved around the top of the piece along with the SilverTowne mint mark beneath the eagle’s talons. These silver rounds are made in the U.S.A. Multiples of 20 arrive in sealed plastic tubes.
WALKING LIBERTY
Walking Liberty silver bars pay homage to the original, silver half-dollars issued by the US Mint and circulated 1916 to 1947. Designed by famed sculptor and engraver Adolph A. Weinman, this beautiful design is also featured on the American Silver Eagle, the most popular bullion coin in the world. The front features the Walking Liberty design. “ONE TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER” is stamped into reverse side. Note: Due to copyright laws, all coins with a likeness to sovereign minted coins have the words "copy" written on them due to the specific artwork used exclusively by the Government Mint. Rest assured your coins are still the same purity of silver and well respected.
PEACE DOLLAR
The 1 oz Peace Dollar Silver Round has a design inspired by the real United States Peace dollars minted in the 1920’s and 1930’s. Our version is made from one full oz of .999 fine silver. The history of this coin includes an interesting beginning. Its design came from a competition of an elite group of hand-selected artisans. The design submitted by Anthony de Francisci was unanimously selected as the winner, to which he was rewarded a $1,500 prize. The front of the round features the Peace Dollar design. “ONE TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER” stamped into reverse side.
SEATED LIBERTY
Our 1 oz Seated Liberty Silver Round is inspired by the coins first minted in the 1840’s. Part of the story of this coin took place when the Coinage Act of 1853 was passed. This Act lowered the silver content of coins by 6.9%, but it only covered coins ranging from nickels to half dollars. So, the Seated Liberty’s original face value of $1 exempted it from the Act and its silver content was preserved. However, the original Seated Liberty still only had a silver content of .773 oz. With our Seated Liberty, you’re getting one full oz of .999 fine silver. The purity details are stamped on the reverse, flanking a perched bald eagle. The front of the round features Seated Liberty design. “1 TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER” is stamped into reverse side.
PROSPECTOR
The front of the round features a prospector and his trusty burro along with the SilverTowne logo and weight and purity in clear block lettering. The back of the round has a crisscross waffle pattern and also features the SilverTowne prospector.
